This special little guy won a lot of hearts! He is now in a wonderful forever home and loved very much by Mary and family, thank you for everything Mary, and of course Dwayne! Spirit's Mom Mary sent in an update: He really is the most lovable boy I've ever known. His antics are so comical, he really entertains the neighbours. He's a 70 lb lap dog, who is most happy when he's curled up beside me or sitting on my lap. He is slowly learning to trust people, but I think he will always be a little reserve when he first meets new friends. He gives gentle little kisses, not big sloppy licks, but that's just his sweet, shy nature. We love him with all our hearts.
What a wonderful happy ending for Spirit!

Inga came to us with a very sad story. CKC registered Inga came from a breeder who bred Inga twice before the age of two and had her living in a crate in a garage with about 20 other dogs. He then dumped her in a local shelter, and we brought her into foster care. Inga has been adopted by Janet and her family! Inga is a very lucky girl, and they are making progress with Inga's fears. Special thanks to Nancy and Rob and Monica for all their help!

"Driver is doing EXTREMELY well and is hoping to compete in his
first Canadian Disc Dog trial in early 2007! He is a natural disc dog
and is also training to be a flyball dog! He has been well socialized at
various fairs ( as I do many demos with various performance groups) Driver has
also travelled with me to Atlanta , Georgia while I completed in the World Disc
Dog Championships. I have been fortunate to have met many GSD owners who have
shared their knowledge and expertise relative to sports training for GSD's.
We are truly blessed to have adopted Driver. Arisa also saw Driver last
weekend, when we both attended a Disc Dog Seminar. She was thrilled at
how he is doing."

Carlie is wonderful with their grandchildren and cats and everyone she meets. Thank you so much Linda and Billy for making this special girl happy and loved for the first time!!

Thor is now settled into his forever home and is a wonderful companion for Kellie and Murph. Thank you so much for everything Kellie!!

Kaiser came to us with a very sad story, he had been abandonned in a boarding kennel 4 years earlier. We were told he had a female companion who lived in the run with him, and was deceased for 2 days before anyone noticed, apparently they thought she was sleeping. Kaiser went to a wonderful foster home and slowly but surely gained back his strength and and health. In spite of everything he had been through, Kaiser is a wonderful gentle and loving dog. Kaiser has been adopted into a fabulous home and is doing great! Many thanks to Brenda and Kerry and the gang and to Kaiser's Mom Linda and her family!

Sheba is a beautiful little female who came to us from a local shelter. Sheba loves to be with people and really hated being left alone. Sheba's foster Mom worked very hard with her on separation anxiety and Sheba is now living a very happy life with her forever home!! Many thanks to Sabina for everything, and to Sheba's fabulous new family - Linda and Peter and CC, formerly known as Cesar, who they adopted from us a few years ago.

Jessie of Klienbrook Shepherds is a beautiful two-year-old female that we recently rescued from euthanization in an area shelter. Jessie was very wary of new people, particularly men. According to the shelter, her owner had acquired her as a guard dog, keeping her in the backyard or garage, and later surrendered her for excessive barking, which was likely a product of loneliness and boredom. Jessie's foster home worked with her on her issues, and our very special friends have now adopted Jessie and are dedicated and continuing to work with her. Jessie is doing great and thanks to all who helped her on her way to her forever home!!

This cute little GSD cross came to us from a local shelter, they had tried him on a foster type arrangement but Jack had issues with house training so they asked us to take him in. Jack did great in foster care and soon found a home with a retired couple who are the neighbours of his foster Mom. This works out great as he has play dates with the foster home and is the focus of his family's attention. Thanks so much to his wonderful foster Mom for fostering Jack and for finding him a special forever home!

This beautiful boy touched the local shelter's heart, he had been bounced around and was very stressed and upset in the shelter. He came into foster care with Michelle, and things started looking up for Falcon! Falcon was not in foster very long when a wonderful couple saw his picture and story and travelled a very long distance to meet him. Falcon is a very lucky boy and has found his loving forever home! Special thanks to Michelle for everything, and all who helped with Falcon's journey, including Maria and Kellie and of course his new adopters Murray and Linda!

Our very special boy Hank has touched many people far and wide. He came into foster care in very sad shape, and Brenda and Kerry and the gang taught him how to love and trust and also allowed him to rest, relax, and heal. He is now in his forever home with Jutta and Al, and loved and spoiled and living the life he has always deserved and sadly never had before entering rescue. We love you Hank. Thanks to Brenda and Kerry and the gang, and Leah, and Jutta and Al, and all of Hanks friends! Hank's foster parents wanted to add a message:

Zoe (formerly known as Zorah) is a wonderful sweet and loving little girl. The wait was well worth it, she is now the much loved companion of a doting Dad! Our beautiful senior angel Kelsey has been adopted by her foster Dad!! Thank you John for all the tender love and care provided to Kelsey, and of course to Kelsey's wonderful guardian angel Caroline!! Kelsey came to us from a local shelter, the poor blind girl was found wandering in a busy intersection, and her family never came to look for her. Can you imagine how terrified she must have been - blind and in the middle of a busy intersection? We are so lucky that we had a special foster home able to take her in and give her the love she deserved!

He likes children, dogs and cats, and is very loyal to his people, just all around bomb proof! Griffin is doing great in his adoptive home and loves his new family! Thanks so much to Brenda and Kerry and the girls for fostering and to Griffin's fabulous family! (I just love this photo!)

This gorgeous boy is CKC-registered as Carissima's Shanto's out of parents Ch. Carissima's Exstravaganza and Carissima's Petra. Known to his friends as Tex, this lovely, gentle boy celebrated his 8th birthday on April 20/05. If we didn't have proof from the CKC, we would never have believed that Tex is eight. This boy is in great shape - maybe a tad overweight - but he's currently on a healthy diet and getting plenty of exercise. Sadly, he was surrendered to a shelter by owners who didn't want to pay for his neuter. Tex is a healthy, vibrant, young-at-heart boy and came through his surgery with flying colors! Tex is now in a wonderful forever home, and is a very happy boy indeed!! Thanks so much to Cheryl and the gang for fostering and to Tex's wonderful new parents!!

Sweet Sadie had a very sad life. From what we can piece together, she has had many homes. Formerly known as Thunder of Klienbrook German Shepherds, she was initially with a family who made her stay outside and was "too busy" for her. They gave her to another family, and the daughter loved her very much, but her parents sent her back to her breeder as Sadie was not fussy on the neighbour's dogs. . Then somehow she was adopted out by a shelter in Crystal Beach, only to end up in yet another shelter. A family who lived across the street from the shelter adopted her, and then almost a year later they returned her to the shelter. They even had the gall to demand her collar and leash back! Sadie had a special angel at the shelter who adored her and pleaded for help. This lovely 7-year-old girl waited day after day in her kennel for someone to take her home. Sadie won the lottery when Gabe and her family agreed to foster her, and then fell in love and adopted her. Thank you SO much Gabe for everything!!

Beautiful Kayla had a sad life before Ruth took her in from the shelter and cared for her. Kayla was found wandering stray and pregnant, and whelped six beautiful shepherd pups that were placed by the shelter, and then Kayla was then in need of some help from rescue. Ruth agreed to continue fostering her and showed her what life was life with patient and caring people, and worked on building her confidence and teaching her that the world is a safe and fun-filled place. Kayla was forced to grow up too quickly, missing out on the joys of puppyhood. Now it’s time for Kayla to enjoy the life she deserves! Kayla found a wonderful permanent home with Mara and family and is doing well! Thanks so much to everyone who helped Kayla, especially Ruth, you were her guardian angel!

Our very special boy Rocky has found a wonderful forever home. Rocky originally came to us from a local shelter and after some time in foster care was adopted out to what we thought would be a forever home. Unfortunately, it was not to be. After almost a year Rocky was returned. Poor Rocky was heartbroken. Rocky is a wonderful, smart, loyal, well behaved and loving boy. Rocky is CKC registered German Shepherd Dog and his registered name is Rock Solid Fax Me A Copy. Luckily a special adopter came forward and Rocky was exactly what we was looking for. Rocky has bonded very strongly with his new Dad, and does the hula dance every day when he comes home! Thanks so much Tom for adopting Rocky!!

Frasier landed as a stray in a local shelter and we got the call asking for help with this special boy. He obviously had not received any training or attention and needed a special foster home. Becky has done a wonderful job with Frasier and has renamed him Porter, and adopted this wild child. Thanks so much to everyone involved in getting Porter to safety! New photo to come soon!

This wonderful distinguished older boy landed in our local shelter, with the excuse that at the age of 10 years, his family was moving and he was not included in their plans. Cheryl and the gang very kindly agreed to foster Ice, and he proved to be a fabulous companion. Ice now has a fabulous forever home with Mike and the family in cottage country and Ice does not miss the hustle and bustle of the big city! Ice also is famous as he was featured on the Animal House Calls show on City TV!

Shadow is a big gorgeous 7 year old male who through no fault of his own landed in a local shelter. Shadow was so depressed, and missed his family so much, that he wouldn't even raise his head off the floor when people came to see him. So people just walked on by. Luckily for Shadow he had a special angel in our friend Patricia. When she heard his story she headed out to meet him and took him into foster care for us. She quickly fell in love with Shadow and has adopted him. Thank you SO much Patricia for saving this special boy!

Little Wag is such a beautiful GSD cross pup. She was fostered with love by Cathie and the gang and is now living happily ever after with her forever home. We wish you well Wag and thanks to Cathie and family and Cheryl for your help!

Precious Blue came to us from a local shelter, and she spent such a very, very long time in foster care. Poor Blue just did not get along with other dogs, and it was not her fault. Blue is doing wonderful, and her family adores her! Thank you so much to Blue's special family!!!

Gorgeous Mieke landed in a local shelter through no fault of her own. Mieke was very lucky that Stephanie and family took on the task of fostering and sprung Mieke from the shelter and euthanasia. We had a few interested families but for various reasons things fell through - and by that time Mieke had climbed right into her foster family's hearts! Thanks for all your help and for providing a wonderful forever home for Mieke! Just look at this gorgeous Easter picture!
Poor Missie was a very sad little clear, clearly she had been terribly abused and neglected - her ears were in the worst shape I have ever seen, you truly can't imagine what they were like unless you saw them yourself. Missie was placed in foster with Mitch and Cyril and received alot of tender loving care as well as vet care, and retraining. She is a completely different dog now, and wouldn't be without the love she was given by Mitch. Being such a beautiful little girl she quickly won Mitch over, and I think Cyril was not far behind.
Missie now!

We are delighted to announce that beautiful Brody - also known as Bub - has been adopted by his foster Mom Lianne!! Brody came to foster care in really terrible shape, truly heartbreaking. With a LOT of time and love and vet care and patience and training, Brody has come along nicely and is a wonderful boy. We could not have done it without Lianne's determination and kindness and overwhelming commitment to Brody. Thanks so much for everything, and to all who know and love and helped with Brody, especially Maria and Leah!

Little Zia was rescued by another group after being found abandoned in the woods with her 3 littermates. Cathie very kindly fostered Zia and she now is in her wonderful forever home just down the street from me! Zia is a lovely girl and is quite fearful, her new parents are working through these issues with her.

Look at Zia now!
Jay came to us from a local shelter, the poor pup had been kept in a storage shed at an apartment building, so he had no socialization with people or dogs. He was a challenge in foster care, and is now with his forever home and doing great! Too many people helped with Jay to name them all, but thank you all so much for everything!

Bronx, the nervous little guy who came to us from a local shelter has come a long way while in foster care with Donna and family. With time and patience, and a special friend named Gypsy, Bronx is now a very happy and loved boy. Thank you so much Donna and family - Bronx is now a permanent part of a wonderful family!

Shelley and family very kindly fostered this little cutie and he is now totally settled in with his forever family - he could not be in better hands and has really blossomed in their care from the scared little boy that he was. Thank you so much, it was definitely fate that brought you together.

Sweet Sara and little Molly and Winnie came to us from a local shelter after they were rescued from a drug house. All 3 of these angels have found their forever homes, and Sara's new name is Sunrise, which definitely suits her! Enormous thanks to dear friend Coral for everything! I also can't thank Sharlene enough for stepping in to help when we needed her so much!

Little Jackson came to GSRT's attention after a local boarding kennel asked for help. Nancy took Jackson to his foster home where Donna and family, especially Gypsy the foster dog-mom extraordinaire, provided a wonderful environment for this pup. Nancy fell hopelessly in love with this little guy and decided she had to find room for one more! Jackson wasted no time winning over the very reluctant Hank, however it was love at first sight with Nellie who is teaching Jackson everything he needs to know around the house. The resident Meezers, Miki & Suzi love the big dogs & had no problem accepting this puppy, even though he likes to chase them (it keeps the kitties in shape). In spite of living in 5 different places in his first 5 months, Jackson has adapted quickly to his "forever" home. He's already going to school where he plays nicely with the other puppies and is showing everyone how smart he is. We haven't heard the last from Jackson, I'm sure.

CKC registered Timber (Bichou Von Abstadt) is a wonderful companion. He was born on February 20, 1995 and was trained as an assistance dog and helped his Mom (who was in a wheelchair) in every way, until she passed away 4 years ago. He missed her terribly and then his Dad passed away a couple months ago. After years of loyal service and devotion to his family; poor Timber found himself looking for a new home, his other family members decided they did not want to keep him, so very sad. They said a donation would be on the way to help with his care and medication, and I knew that was not true, and I hate to admit they never even called once to see how he was doing. Heartbreaking. Darlene very kindly agreed to foster this gentle giant and Timber is now in a wonderful forever home with close relatives of Darlene - so she can visit anytime! Timber is being treated like a king and is very happy in his forever home! Thank you so much !

Sweet Tasha came to us from a local shelter, she was in the shelter with Pena and Luba at the very same time. I can't begin to tell you how Tasha broke my heart, the tips of her ears were damaged by frostbite, and she was so petrified she crawled around on her belly. When I made kissy noises - she crawled right into my lap. Such an angel. There was a very special man named Richard who I met when I had my rescue Floyd at my office. Richard had recently lost his beloved Dallas, a GSD rescue. My Floyd, normally very cautious with strange males, was all over him. I just knew Richard would be the man to foster Tasha, altho I knew for sure she would be adopted by him. Tasha visited me today at my office and is doing amazing in Richard's care, and is walking with her head up, and met my colleagues with no hesitation!
Tasha in the shelter lobby:

Tasha in my office:

Sable is a sweet little girl who was rescued from a local shelter. Sable is good with people and is ok with large male dogs, although pushy like all females, she does take awhile to warm up to them. Sable could not be in a better home!

Tasha is a lovely girl who's owner left the country, and left Tasha alone in her former home. With the help of the next door neighbour and Tasha's "Grandpa" we were able to get her into foster care. Very Sad Update - Darling gentle Sam passed away and is missed so very much by his family and everyone who ever met him, he was such a wonderful gentle soul. Please see "In Loving Memory".

Shadow was rescued from a really awful situation in Shelburne. Poor Shadow only had 1/2 a tail and was missing two toes, due to frostbite. Mel and Spirit very kindly agreed to foster this lovely dog who had never been inside and was not used to people or any dogs other than the one caged outside with her. Shadow blossomed in Mel's care, and is now in her forever home with Jody and Lisa. Shadow is loved very much by Jody and Lisa's extended family, and I hear they have all offered, ok INSISTED on being allowed the pleasure of babysitting should Lisa and Jody ever go on a vacation!

Thank you so much Susan and Rob for working with him and making him the boy he is now, and thank you to Paul and family for recognizing the wonderful qualities in him and adopting him and providing and safe and loving forever home for Shelbie!

Our boy Samson, the very afraid little male rescued from a local shelter, fostered by the amazing Danielle and family, has been adopted by Sharon! We are so happy for Sharon and Samson! He is blossoming in her care!

Casey is a darling puppy who's original family dumped her at a local animal control and signed the papers for her to be put down. Poor Casey has grade 4 hip dysplasia, and we have 2 car washes planned to help with the cost of surgery. Casey's devoted and loving foster parents, fell in love, and have adopted Casey!! (Thanks so much Colleen and family! And thanks of course to Debbie and Fran for all their help!) Happy news - Casey was desperately underweight when she came out of the shelter, only 37 pounds, and so far is now at 50 pounds! Casey will always need to be lean, as healthy German Shepherd Dogs should be, but due to her hips she will always be very closely monitored so as not to cause her pain. Here's Casey "behind bars"

And a very happy Casey now!

Shelbie - our sweet pup thought to be dog aggressive in the local pound. Needed rescue asap! Corinne and her hubby fell in love and Shelbie is a very spoiled girl now, living with her doggy pal and some kitties. Thanks so much Corinne and family! (And thanks to our friend James!)

Caroline and Gilles fell in love with Carrie despite her EPI, and are giving her lots of love and exercise - Carrie is a very lucky and happy girl! Heartfelt thanks to our amazing foster Mom Amanda, and of course the irrepressible Murray! (and Jasper and Cairo!)

Lovely Ophelia and Carrie

Turbo is a wonderful boy - he was to be put down at a local shelter when an experienced GSD man, Brian, stepped up and agreed to foster Turbo. Turbo came a long, long way with Brian and the obedience training he achieved was amazing - those who met the "wild child" while in the shelter are shocked at what Brian was able to do with him - enormous thanks to Brian!! Turbo has now been adopted and is very happy in his forever home. Thanks to all!

Merlin is a lovely young male! A kind hearted trainer asked for our help, Merlin's owners were leaving the country and were not taking him with them, and she was afraid what would become of this sweet boy. Merlin was fostered by the amazing Danielle and is now in a wonderful forever home with Elaine and Rob. Merlin is doing very well in their care!

Princess was in a local shelter and thought to be unadoptable as she had hip dysplasia. With the kind help of Pauline, Princess found a very special home! Thanks to Pauline and Princess' forever home!

Nika was rescued from a local shelter where they were going to put her sleep due to her timid behaviour. Nika is a very outgoing dog, and like many dogs, just did not do well in the shelter environment. Nika was fostered by Pauline who went above and beyond, and provided a loving foster home until her special forever home was found with Cheryl. Nika is doing wonderful, thriving on the BARF diet and enjoys long walks, tons of toys and playing with Bandit!

Sage and his big sister Nika

Remus was living a very sad life confined in a small room due to the new baby's allergies. He was their treasured companion and they did not want to see him so sad, and realized the best thing would be for him to be in a home where he could be with his people. While I do not take owner surrenders, Remus was my exception, having a wonderful senior of my own, this sweet senior who had lost weight and was chewing his tail due to loneliness really broke my heart. Remus went into foster care and has found a fabulous forever home with Dena and Al, and is very much an important part of their family. Remus could not possibly be in a more loving forever home.
(who could resist this sad face!)

Lucy's family decided she had too much energy for them, and another rescue very kindly took her in, and then agreed to foster her for us. Thanks so much guys! Lucy is a high energy, smart and loving dog and now has a wonderful home where she is very happy!

Chloe is a very sweet sable female. Chloe was pulled from a local animal control office as she was going to be put to sleep. Chloe is very loyal and protective of her family, and a wonderful companion. Special thanks to Amanda and Murray for fostering Chloe before she found her forever home with Dawn and the gang!

Shelby is a beautiful female who was rescued by a kind hearted woman who could not bear to see her living a life of neglect and destined to be on a chain in the yard when they didn't want to bother with her. She tried very hard to integrate her into her family - but Shelby's past treatment left her very fearful of other dogs - so she would try everything to keep all dogs away, and could not be trusted with other dogs, including her dogs so she approached us for help. Shelby has waited a very long time to find a special family to love, and is now in her forever home with Shane and Jackie and 2 adorable kitties. Special thanks to Cathy for getting this sweetie out of an awful situation, and helping with transport in a snowstorm, and to Shane and Jackie for providing a wonderful and loving forever home.

Cooper formerly Rex - has now found his forever home! Coop was rescued from a local shelter, he was afraid of everything he saw, and it was only with the help of Amy and Kim that he came around and was able to deal with the outside world. With a very, very special foster's help, our pal Pauline, Coop was able to overcome the abuse and mistreatment in his past and become a treasured companion. Ken and Judy and their family have provided a safe haven for Cooper to thrive in, and he is SO happy!! New pictures below of Coop at the cottage!

Cooper at the shelter:

Brady is a cuddly lovable male who came to us from a shelter up North. The shelter had seized Brady from a home where they had stopped feeding him and their other dogs, poor sweet angels. Brady's foster Mom Joanne and her daughter Ali fell in love with Brady and have adopted him. He is living happily with 2 kitties and another male dog. Thanks so much Joanne and Ali!

Sweet 7 year old AKC registered Kody was in a kennel for approximately 8 months, his coat was in terrible shape and he was VERY overweight. Poor Kody was looking for a very special family - and he has found one with Wendy and Joe! He is a very happy spoiled boy now! His Mom Wendy calls him her little bear and reports that he is now at his ideal weight, active and his coat is so shiny it's like velvet. (My thanks to Kathleen, Laura and Pam for their help!)

Benny
Ben was in a local shelter and they called and asked for help. He had come in as a stray after running loose for several weeks. In the shelter he was not doing well at all, and was completely untrained and pushy with other dogs. He is also an escape artist (Husky cross) and needed an experienced home. With lots of training and help from Anik, and some bumps along the way, Ben did find his forever home. Thanks so much Anik and family!

Charlie's Story
We were advised on November 23rd by a very caring Humane Society employee that a pound nearby had a 6-8 week old German Shepherd cross puppy that needed to be out that week. We were told the pound wanted $25 for this little guy. We picked him up on the following Sunday and after a hair raising afternoon in my home with 4 adult German Shepherds (!) that he promptly bossed around, he went into one of our fabulous foster homes. They actively promoted this little sweetie, and a wonderful family applied to adopt him. They are very much in love with this little guy, and it was a match made in heaven and the very best forever home for Charlie. He is getting so handsome and such a big boy! Thanks so much Colleen and family!!

Annie (formerly Tasha) Now

Annie and her brother Hank

Annie's Story
Told by adoptive Mom "They guessed her to be about 20 months old Christmas 2001. She and a male GSD had been seized by the SPCA in the fall of 2001. The male was found wearing a choke collar that had become embedded in his neck. It was so badly infected he could not be saved and was euthanized. The little female was immobilized by fear & had to be carried on a blanket to her kennel at the shelter. They soon discovered this little girl was pregnant. Her 7 beautiful puppies were born at the shelter and weaned on Christmas day.
While still grieving the loss of our beloved Murphy to cancer only 2 weeks earlier, we went to the SPCA to assess several German Shepherds for GSRT. We were about leave when I remembered a GSD they called “Tasha”. We were taken to this friendly, but very timid girl, and though I tried to leave several times, I was drawn back to her. It was clear to me that she needed a very special home & fast! We made arrangements to adopt her immediately.
Tasha was re-named Annie in memory of Anika (see Anika's story here). Although she had been abused, her fear is being replaced with trust and we now see pure joy on her face as she plays with our boy Hank. She’s learning that not all humans will hurt her. She’s a special girl, our sweet Annie and came into our life at just the right time."

My very deepest sympathies to Annie's family
Striker
Striker was due to be put to sleep on a Monday morning at an SPCA out of town. Another "rescue" had gone out to see him and would have saved him if he was a purebred, but since they felt he was a mix, they would not save him. They left me a message Saturday night which I picked up on Sunday, to say he would be put to sleep on Monday and they were leaving it in my hands. With the wonderful help of Grace Hall, thank God we were able to get Striker out in time. Michele fostered Striker and fell in love and ended up adopting him! Striker is now a treasured companion to Michele and best buddy to Abby - thank you Michele! Striker looked so sad in the shelter:

And look how happy he is with his pal Abby!

Tigger in his former home with Sadie and Jesse

Tigger in his forever home - being silly for Christmas with his little pals

Tigger's Story
Tigger is a German Shepherd mix who was rescued by a woman who used to drive by and see Tigger tied up outside a nearby home, day after day. Finally she couldn't stand it anymore and went up to the home and offered to take Tigger if they did not want him. They were more than happy to see him go. She then took Tigger into her home where he lived for about 4 years. Then some issues came up and she decided to move in with her family and place her dogs. A special forever home was found with Anne and Claudio. Tigger is now living with a wonderful family in a beautiful home, and is a very happy and spoiled boy.

Simba with his Mom Rebecca

A German Shepherd? Well - how about an honorary German Shepherd!
Simba's Story
Simba is a 2 1/2 years old male Husky mix who was found by the side of the road when he was just a puppy. His x-rays indicated that his hips were damaged, deducing that he was either thrown from a vehicle or kicked. His hips are not in need of medical treatment at this time, but he will need to be watched very closely for any signs of discomfort as he becomes older. Simba grew up with several other dogs and is very friendly, he loves people, children, cats and other dogs. Simba is an indoor dog, completely house trained. He loves to go for walks and can run and play. He is very, very affectionate and even though he weighs approximately 45 pounds he thinks he's a lap dog. He sleeps on the couch all evening and most of the day. His favourite thing to do (other then go for a walk) is sit up on the picnic table and watch the world go by. He is an excellent passenger in a car, extremely friendly with strangers. He loves being groomed (brushed), shedding a thick winter coat every season. Simba has a very sensitive nose and he sneezes very easily. Simba was looking for a forever home where he would be treated with kindness and love. Great news!! Simba has been adopted and is now a treasured companion to Rebecca.
Lacy
story and photos to come!
Maverick
Maverick was a 9 month old CKC registered male, his sire was BIM, grandsire a 4 time Select Champion. I received an e-mail after midnight to say he would be put to sleep at noon that day, the breeder who owned the dam supported the death of this sweet young male. I was able to get my very special foster home to race over and get him in the nick of time. Maverick blossomed in foster care, who socialized him and loved him. Maverick has been adopted by a wonderful family, Trixi and David, and is so very happy.

Prince
Prince was an approximately 1 year old male due to be put to sleep in a shelter outside of town. I was frantically trying to find a home for him when a PERFECT match came up. His Mom Nancy is an experienced GSD person, and was determined to have Prince reach his full potential and be a treasured part of her family. She has taken Prince to obedience classes, where he graduated grade one with top marks in all 5 classes!! He is no longer the chubby spoiled monster he once was and he has Nancy to thank for it - thanks Nancy! (NEW PICS!)

Harley
We were told about a GSD with a broken leg in a local pound in late November - and could not get a foster for him. We went to assess Harley, they were worried they would have to put him to sleep as he was not eating and was depressed, and then didn't want to have to do this as he was such a sweet boy. We then found out it was actually a broken hip, not a leg, and the poor angel had been there for quite some time, so we took him home to foster. Well he is the foster who never left. Harley has done very well, gained much needed weight and is a happy boy!
Harley then:

Handsome Harley now!
