Fergus  - in foster care

Age: 1 year  approx

This lovely, sweet-natured, one-year-old boy is a very special dog and we’ll be looking for a similarly special home for him. Rescued from an area shelter, Fergus was fully vetted before being transported to his new foster home several hours away. He was neutered and microchipped, had his vaccinations updated and had his hips X-rayed and throughout it all, he completely impressed the veterinary staff with his wonderful temperament. It took five different drivers to transport Fergus across Ontario to his foster home and it’s a surprise he made it to his destination. This boy is so sweet and well-behaved that many of his transporters wanted to take him straight home with them! Whether reclining on the seat or crated, Fergus is a wonderful traveler and didn’t utter one complaint during his journey. He’s definitely the kind of dog that would be perfect to take on family holidays! Fergus has a striking plush black and silvery-tan coat, making him just as beautiful on the outside as he is on the inside. Typical of his breed, he is very intelligent and should do very well with motivational obedience. He would likely do well in a home with a large breed female companion. Fergus is special in one other way as well. During his X-rays, it was discovered that he has moderate dysplasia in both hips. Fortunately, many shepherds with HD show little or no symptoms when fed a healthy diet, given appropriate exercise (swimming is great!), kept at a healthy weight and provided with basic supplements such as glucosamine, MSM and Vitamin (ester) C. During his transport, Fergus easily hopped into the back of an SUV and showed no signs of discomfort. Watch for continued updates on Fergus as he settles into his foster home. We think this boy is incredible!!

Gracie - adoption pending!!!

Age:9 years approx

Hi my name is Grace! I'm a very tiny beautiful senior girl. I'm looking for someone who will take me for a few walks a day. I do have hip troubles but walks definitely help me. A quiet home would be the ideal place being that I am a little shy. I love the time with just me and my foster Dad right now. I'm quiet , don't bark much and I come when I'm called! I would love a nice soft bed to call mine. Looking for someone to open their home and heart to a sweet old girl who has alot of love to give. If you can help Gracie by providing a loving forever home, please contact me ASAP at info@gsrt.net

If you would like to help with Gracie's sponsorship,   or sponsoring another GSRT foster dog, you can make a donation through paypal. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.

Colby   - adopted!!!!

Age: 3 years approx

Meet Colby, a stunning longhaired black-and-tan German Shepherd Dog. This gorgeous boy is beautiful, both inside and out. Colby loves people and is very willing to please, which makes us believe that he would bond very strongly to his owner. He would excel in obedience, and both training and breed experience is recommended due to his confident personality. Colby loves to go for walks and would make a wonderful companion for an active person. Because of his dominant nature, we’re recommending a home without other dogs, though he might do well with a submissive female. He is altered and up-to-date on shots, and all he needs is the right home that will appreciate the companionship of this affectionate boy!

If you would like to help with Colby's sponsorship,   or sponsoring another GSRT foster dog, you can make a donation through paypal. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.

Petey - adopted!!!

Age:4 years  approx

Introducing Petey! This young happy boumcy boy is approx 4 yrs old. His perfect home would be with someone who was home alot and included him in family activities, and can arrange for doggy daycare when they will not be home. Petey becomes anxious when you leave him and will chew and is an escape artist. . That is Petey's only fault. Petey is a perfect gentleman with the sweetest personality. He is not a real barker and is housebroken. He does not jump up on adults or children, he adores his two foster sisters and loves to play hide and seek with them. Petey also enjoys having his teeth brushed at bedtime and lots of belly rubs. He knows sit, down, shake a paw and stay and is a dream to walk on a flat collar. He is very gentle when taking treats and has no food or toy aggression, not a mean bone in this boy's body. Petey is looking for a home with a medium to large sized friendly female dog to play with.

If you would like to help with Petey's   sponsorship,   or sponsoring another GSRT foster dog, you can make a donation through paypal. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.

Petey says thank so much for everything to his special pals Heide and Takoda!  and my enormous thanks to their Mom and Dad Carol and Glenn!!
